{Happy Saturday Everyone} I don’t know about you, but during this seemingly unimaginable time, the memes that are coming out have been the best comic relief! The ones about social distancing, coronavirus, home-schooling, toilet paper….and they just keep coming every day.
And don’t even get me started on all of the press conferences and the very animated sign language interpreters! Between the ridiculous questions being asked by some of the media personnel and the way the president responds to them, it’s like I just can’t stop watching! I actually look forward to the press conference alerts I get on my phone. Not just for the actual news we receive, but for the other random pieces I mentioned before.
Back to the memes…I’m going to post an album of some of favorites from the past few days. I just can’t help myself. Obviously, the ones about parents being at home with their kids right now are among my favorite. Both because I’m living it myself and because I can just imagine how difficult it is with kids younger than my own and with a profession that isn’t as easy to conduct online as my own. The struggle is real for many and I am very lucky to be in the situation I am in, but the memes do bring a bit of levity to this very serious situation. I kept each meme in its full size below because otherwise most of the image would get cut off. Enjoy reading through them, I hope they bring you as much joy as they did me. My favorite one right now is the first one!
So another mode of media that is keeping me entertained these days are the parodies that are being created. I’ve posted videos of the Holderness Family before and they recently released a montage of parodies about what the nation is going through right now that literally made me laugh as I watched each one. I am linking it below. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE!
I also have my outfits to post from the 3 weeks before the world was basically shut down and I stopped wearing real pants. Seriously. I’ve been in yoga pants, joggers, and leggings every day since we’ve been called off. And I can’t forget the pj pants that I’ve recently thrown into the outfit rotation. For everyone’s sake…I am not taking pictures of my outfits each day and sharing! Although they would be pretty entertaining.
As schools were announced to be closed there were all sorts of companies posting things on social media to help with keeping kids occupied at home. It is great that so many companies are willing to assist the families that now have to keep kids busy at home all day and night. Especially since going outside hasn’t even been an option in SW Ohio because the weather has been so abysmal. It’s been as rainy as it was in January. Before we were bitter because we had rain instead of snow. Now we’re bitter because we rain instead of sunshine! We just can’t catch a break these days. Anywho…one of the Facebook posts that I jumped on immediately was from a company in Milford that offered to post online art lessons every day at 1pm. I knew 100% that school work wasn’t going to keep Makenna busy all day and I was going to need to have things on deck to entertain her. So I quickly checked out the art shopping list and ordered as many things as I could from Amazon. We’ve been supplementing our time with random arts and crafts activities and I will say they are very fun! I’ll post pics of the 3 projects we have done so far. Here is a link to the Facebook page of the company if you’d like to follow them and take part in the projects. We prefer to not watch them live so we can pause and fast forward during the playback. https://www.facebook.com/McHarperManor/

As more and more people are discouraged from leaving the home the more everyone has resorted to doing everything online. Shopping for clothes and jewelry are not the main items being shopped any longer. We’ve all had to resort to even ordering beverages, medicine, thermometers, etc online because it’s just crazy being out and shopping right now. Amazon Fresh will (if there are windows of time open) deliver to your home in a 2 hour window. We had some produce and adult beverages delivered and it was free with our Prime membership. I know most items that are marked Prime really aren’t shipping as fast as they have before Corona, but the fact that there are still are options for delivery is definitely something I’m not taking for granted right now.
I’m still trying to get over the fact that my license will expire in April and I was so ready to take all of my documentation to the BMV to get my “new” license. And now it looks like I’ll have to drive around with an expired license without penalty. But the rule follower in me hates that I will have an expired ID. Again, I can’t imagine what BMVs will look like when are able to go there again. All of the people that are in the same boat as me and will need up to date licenses. Lines are ridiculous during normal times. So I hope they keep the “no penalty” rule in effect for a few months after BMVs open again. It will take that long for lines to die down I bet. I know I won’t attempt going there for a while.
Avon is continuing to ship so if there are items that you would like to shop, take advantage of the rep discount and shop online at www.youravon.com/smeibers or continue to send me messages with what you’d like and I’ll either ship your items to you, or drop them off at your house (I promise I’ll offer a “no contact” drop off option. LOL.) I just placed an order last night, but will need to place another one by the end of the week so please let me know if you’d like to have anything added! Link to the current Avon brochure. Happy shopping!
I know that not many of us are needing to go out and apply makeup, but we do still take showers, wash our face, moisturize, and prep our skin for the day when we will be allowed to go out in public again! I’m also very appreciative of the fact that I do my own nails right now. I’m guessing the beauty industry is going to be overbooked and overwhelmed as soon as the lift is taken off for them. I don’t even want to know how hard it will be to make appointments.
I’ll highlight some of the best deals from our current catalog below. Find them all in the online catalog linked above.
I hope this post occupied your day for a good 5 minutes or so, now its back to regular programming for you for the rest of the weekend. I’m sure many people are sneaking in some home projects and DIY-ing since all of this has started. We were excited at the opportunity to finally seal our deck. Well…that was a pretty funny thought I guess. It’s neither dry enough or warm enough for us to do it. So much for that idea. So I’m settling for doing laundry regularly, running the dishwasher 2x a day and putting dishes away, and changing out random decorations while cleaning. I’m sure all of those activities are going to get pretty boring here soon so I’ll definitely need another outlet. The arts and crafts activities might just be as good of an option for me as they are for Kenna!
Stay safe and sanitized everyone! And remember…keep sharing those hilarious memes!
