Nothing hurts the progress of putting in a pool than more rain! Our backyard is beyond a mud pit at this point and it is really putting a damper (literally) on our timeline! It’s not completely stopping us from using it, but it’s still not the same as if it were to be sunny (I’d settle for overcast at this point)…at least 3 days a week. Updated pictures of the backyard scene are below for those interested.
The wood posts you see are a part of the retaining wall for the deep cut in the earth we have going on…The deck will build off of it, but you’re not exactly seeing what the deck will look like just yet.
Not that anyone reading this post is a father, but Happy Father’s Day out there to everyone! I hope everyone was able to find a few breaks between the rain to enjoy some moments outside. I know we grilled from the garage to play it safe. The kids were able to enjoy some pool time, but it was a sloppy mud mess all over the place from the never-ending storm that happened last night. It washed up mud all over the concrete under the deck and pretty hard to avoid if you were trying to get into the pool. Regardless of the stone path we have fashioned up.
We successfully grilled out and enjoyed a few hours with family which was really nice. We were hoping to be at my dad’s property riding on fun toys and swimming in his pond, but Mother Nature saw to it that our plans were changed. We made the best out of the situation and moved the gathering to our house…rain didn’t stop us from celebrating all of our dads!
I scored some wreaths from TJ Maxx for $10 this weekend and immediately made sure to incorporate them into my home decor. LOL. The American Flag is a burlap yard flag that I put a ruler inside across the top so it wouldn’t flop forward. I used a safety pin to fasten it to some wired twine, and voila!, an American Flag door decoration.
I wore a pair of shorts today that I bought at H&M while in Columbus at a principal’s convention. I LOVE them. I went onto their site today and bought them in 2 more patterns. They are long enough, have pockets, and are flowy so they appear to almost be a skirt. Pics and a link to them are below. They’re only $12.99 too. Win win in my book!
The moon/star necklace is from Lavender Blue’s etsy shop. It’s very dainty and cute as a necklace stack addition. There are little diamonds in them too. You can use “steph20” for 20% off also! Pic with link is below.
The cork earrings with black stars are a favorite of mine right now. They are from the Eleven10Leather.com site I told everyone about last time. They have a subscription box that costs 24.99 a month and you get 2 pair of earrings. I loved these so much I went onto their site and bought them separately. They come in 3 different sizes. These are size large. I’ll link them below too. Use this link to get 10% off your order.
Two jewelry sales happening right now for jewelry are linked below as well. 50% off at Victoria Emerson and 30% off of Kinsley Armelle.
I realized that I haven’t posted a pic of a mani lately. The one below is a Revel and Sparkle & Co combo. The accent nail is “Confetti Popped” from Sparkle & Co and the pale pink/pearl white (which I love!) is “Bette” from Revel.
If you haven’t the “dip process” on your own I definitely recommend giving it a try. The summer is a perfect time to give it a try, especially for all you teachers out there looking for a new hobby over the summer. I know I have gained so much more time back in my life and the 20% tip I was leaving, on top of the manicure alone, isn’t something I miss either! Head over to my “Nails & Beauty” page if you’d like more info on the process. I’ve included links to my favorite nail lines and include a link to all of the products you will need to get this party started! Feel free to message me if you have any specific questions. I think I’m up to 6 friends that I’ve converted to doing this process on their own!
I’m going to go ahead and hop off of here ladies….I’m heading over to the Westide garage to enjoy an adult beverage before my weekend is officially over and I set my alarm for a Monday morning wake-up. Please pray that this rain comes to a halt soon so I can include some pictures of a pool that actually has a deck around it!
