{Summer Hours are in Full Effect}

The image above is my new profile pic for my “personal blog Facebook page.” I didn’t know that was a thing until I was prompted to connect my Instagram account to a personal blog Facebook page. Not sure how I like it yet, but I’m going to attempt to post most of my content through the blog page once I get enough of a following and that way I can send a lot more posts relating to fashion, decorating, etc. without flooding my personal Facebook page. So…”Like” my page at https://www.facebook.com/fashionfunandhomedecor/ and I’m going to try this out. I’m also going to blast out an invite to all of my contacts so you’ll most likely see it that way too.

Although I’m not officially on summer vacation, everyone else in my house is. That means we are operating on “Summer Hours” around here. I still get up on Monday morning and head to work, but there’s just something different about that when everyone in the house is off. No packing lunches before I leave. No getting outfits ready the night before and making sure shoes are laid out so everyone isn’t scrambling before they leave for school. It’s like I gain an extra 10 minutes right there every morning.

And just knowing that I’m not coming home to figure out how much homework everyone has or to what needs to be signed or turned in the next day, is such a relief!

So, back to the “summer hours” thing I referred to earlier…I totally forgot to post last weekend and I’m definitely going to have to figure out the new normal for when that will happen for the summer. I’m still wearing clothes every day, so I will still have outfits to post, they just may not be as fancy as during the school year. I definitely shake the heels during the summer, that’s for sure. But I’m guessing my posts are going to be a lot more full of projects being done around the house, decorating here and there, packing for trips, etc. Which is way more fun I think, I just have to remember to actually create the posts!

We’ve had a lot going on here since we had the pool installed. Our backyard looks like a full blown construction site. So I’ll show you the outfits I wore over the past 2 weeks, then get right to a pool/construction update for everyone.

[Pool Update]

I’ll post pics from the beginning of the project (May 29th) until today. We’re now at the point where the deck needs to be started. Kenny’s going to be working on some dirt filling for another week or so and then the deck posts will be put in. The goal is to have the posts done before we leave for Hilton Head at the end of June and then the entire deck to be finished by the end of July.

All of the pics below are what took place literally in one day….9 hours to be exact. From 6:30am until 3:30pm.

The next gallery will be what happened from the day of install until today.

The 4 pics below are from today. The red spray paint marks are where the deck will be coming out to.

All in all it is very exciting, but is not exactly an “easy” summer project. We have had to figure out how to manage the pump system and how to work the automatic vacuum, as well as figure out how to balance 50,000 gallons of water with chemicals. Once the deck is in and we are used to what makes this baby tick, we’ll be good to go. We just need to have a nice stretch of weather so we’re not looking at a mud pit to work around. It gets pretty sloppy out there when it starts to rain. Totally mud wrestling worthy, but we won’t even attempt to test that theory out. LOL.

Well…I hope you enjoyed all of the pics of our summer project in the backyard. I’m sure I’ll have more to come very soon. Remember to like my new FB page so I can send you all the deals I find online over the summer and share all my summer “around the house” projects that will happen weekly over here on the westide! https://www.facebook.com/fashionfunandhomedecor/
