{The In-between of Summer & Fall}

The struggle is real!

The meme above pretty much states how I’m feeling right now. Very conflicted. The temperature outside says, “It’s summer! Come swim in the pool, wear flip flops and tank tops, drink that fun drink every night.” But school being in session and fall sports getting ready to launch on TV have me getting ready for scarves and boots!

It doesn’t help that every store you walk into still has bathing suits and picnic items for sale while right around the corner you can buy Halloween and Christmas decorations!

We’re at the tail end of the, what seems like the never-ending, pool/deck project. My dad and Kenny have been rock stars for the past few months. Grinding it out through the rain, heat, humidity, and sweat. The pictures below were taken today and really show just how far we’ve come throughout this entire project!

As much as I want to cling onto every last bit of summer sitting by the pool and soaking up some rays to keep what I call a “tan” lasting as long as possible….I can’t help but get excited about fire pits, cool weather, and football! So many of my go to fall items come from Jane. I’m linking in all of their newest items, with some sample pics, below. It’s the perfect time to order fall items because they’ll be here just in time for those crisp nights by the fire.

And speaking of fall…how cute are these customized “Game Day” tees? You can literally pick whatever school color tee and customize your mascot. Adorable! I guarantee these will get you compliments under the Friday Night Lights!

If you’re in the market for an outdoor rug that will withstand rain and not fade, I highly recommend the rug below from Amazon. You cannot find a 6’x9′ rug for $35 anywhere else! You can see them pictured in my deck pictures above. I have one in the 6’x9′ size and the 5’x7′ size. I just ordered 2 more of the 6’x’9′ ones for the pool deck and our regular deck. I nailed them down to the deck and they do not move. They are reversible and do not fade in the sunlight. You can easily spray them with a hose if they get dirty and they keep little feet from getting splinters or stepping on hot surfaces.

I’m also going to be trying the belt purse (pictured below) out at work from time to time. The lanyard around the my neck is pretty heavy by the time I attach a walkie, my phone, keys, etc. Of course I had to try one out in leopard. LOL. I didn’t want to have to choose between brown or black so I went with leopard to cover my bases. I’m including a pic below. It’s not going to break the bank if it doesn’t work out so stay tuned for a full report. If I don’t end up wearing it at work, I’m sure I can wear it out to dinner or to a festival or something. It’s super cute. I’ll figure out how to work it into the rotation!

Speaking of lanyards…I’m sure all you educators out there can appreciate a good quality lanyard. I’m going to link in the combo I sport each and every day below. They are both from Etsy. One of the pieces is a bungee holder for my phone. It is a lifesaver! A little pricey for a device holder ($20) but it is great for everyone that finds themselves wearing dresses/skirts and nowhere to keep a phone for sure. The actual lanyard is made of paracord and you can order them in whatever school color combo you prefer. The detaching feature for keys is also a bonus. They also come in various lengths.

I hope everyone’s school year, their own and their children’s, has started off smoothly. I know some haven’t even started yet, so good luck to you! Before you know it we’ll be talking about cute Christmas decor and shopping lists.

It’s been forever since I actually put a post together and I almost just said “forget it” who even reads it? But I know I made a commitment as a New Year’s resolution and I’m going to stick with it. Even if I only have 5 people…counting family…that even read it. Hahaha. I guess the beauty of not really knowing how many people actually read it, is that I don’t have to know how sorry for myself I really need to feel. That was obviously sarcastic, but you catch my drift.
