I wasn’t sure which of these wreaths I was going to end up using around the house…but who am I kidding? I found a spot for all 3 of them! I used a roll of burlap to hang them in 3 different rooms around the house. First, I will show you how I used the burlap to hang them. I first started using this technique because the burlap was just a little too wide for what I wanted. But after I started cutting it in half I realized I could use the splitting to my advantage when hanging to create a bow or decorative piece to hang down.
What I like about these wreaths is that they will easily fit into any spring decor as well. I’ll probably figure out a way to incorporate them into any of my seasonal decorating to be honest. Burlap is something that I always have available when decorating. There are just so many uses for it. I’ve used thick burlap as a runner on a table, as a ribbon around the top of a jar or bucket, to hang frames or wreaths, or just as a ribbon around any type of plant/flower I may be decorating with at the time. The burlap below is reasonably priced at Amazon, but you can find it at any store that sells this type of decoration, such as Hobby Lobby, Michael’s, etc. Sometimes it’s seasonal and can be pretty pricey if not bought on sale. The price for the amount you get from Amazon is very affordable in my opinion.
Besides the wreath decorating I spent most of the day doing laundry, cleaning the floors, and getting everyone ready for school tomorrow. Pretty typical Sunday around here…just the way I like them! I made two different types of pasta salad and hard boiled a dozen eggs for everyone to have throughout the week. Not exactly the definition of “meal prep” but will definitely come in handy for my lunches and for snacking here and there. I used the recipe below to make this amazing chicken salad pasta that I highly recommend. You can customize it with whatever ingredients you like, but I just use the basics or whatever I happen to have at home that sounds good.
This recipe would be for an entire box of pasta so you can divide the ingredients in half if you don’t want as much end product. I used a 1/2 box of pasta for this pasta and then the other half for another type of pasta salad that uses Italian dressing as it’s liquid base.
1 cup of ranch (I use Kroger ranch dips mix and sour cream as my “ranch”)
1 cup of mayo (any brand)
2 large cans of shredded chicken
The rest of the ingredients can be as much as you’d like to add of each:
Shredded carrots
Diced red onion
Shredded mozzarella cheese
Salt & Pepper
I’ve used diced up nuts before and that was good. It would also be great with craisins, cranberries, or raisins…
